I chose basketball at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics for this project because USA basketball is famous for these games for which they are still known to this day as the “dream team”. It is considered one of the greatest gatherings of talent the sport of basketball has ever seen, led by none other than Michael Jordan. Jordan was in the middle of his first set of back to back to back NBA championships in 1992, and added a gold medal to his trophy case that year.

The main typeface I used for this project was Montserrat Alternates for its fluid movement similar to that of a well played basketball game. I chose a san serif as it matched what both the NBA and FIBA use for their logos and kept the slogan for the 1992 Olympics of Faster, Higher, Stronger. Those keywords do a great job illustrating how the game is played by the best in the world. Michael Jordan in particular was known for his leaping ability, earning himself the nickname “His Airness”. I chose to use the singular photograph allowed for this typographic project to feature Michael Jordan in the spectator guide both because of my own bias towards him as the greatest of all time, and his outstanding performances during the olympic team's gold medal run.

This project was extremely enjoyable since I was given the opportunity to brand the historic 1992 olympics and one of the greatest sports teams ever assembled, in my favorite sport, featuring my favorite player.
